Our prayers are being lifted for those across our listening area impacted by the recent severe storms. Many suffered damage to property and injury to loved ones.

We’ve gathered a listing of parishes and organizations that are coordinating relief efforts for our brothers and sisters in need.

St. Patrick Catholic Church in Elkhorn, NE is taking donations on their website through their “Human Needs” campaign. They are also requesting Visa and Mastercard gift cards to be dropped off at their parish office – 205th and W. Maple Road in Elkhorn. Visit their website to read a full description of relief efforts here.

St. Vincent de Paul Society is collecting funds for tornado relief. Visit their website here.

Catholic Charities Omaha is accepting food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, paper goods, and diaper donations at their pantry – find a listing of items needed here. These items can be dropped off at 9223 Bedford Ave, Omaha NE 68134. Monetary donations can be made online here.  They are also providing mental health counseling for those impacted by these storms.

Trinity Catholic Parishes (St. Francis Borgia in Blair, St. John the Baptist in Fort Calhoun, and St. Patrick in Tekamah):

1. Cash, check, and gift card donations are being accepted at the Parish Office and in the St. Francis Borgia Commons Area. (there’s a donation box set up on the GOLD table). *We are not using online donations to maximize the donation amounts and make it easier to give the gift quickly to those in need.

2. If you have items for donation, please call the Parish Office at 402.426.3823. We are keeping an inventory list of what is available for donation. When those in need are ready, we have a team who can put them in touch with you.

3. You can pray! Pray for healing. Pray for peace. Pray for the fear of being in the storm and fearing for their lives to be given to Our Lord to heal and provide calm in their hearts. Pray for everything that is needed is provided for at just the right time. Come pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament this Friday at St. John the Baptist or St. Francis Borgia in thanksgiving for the lives protected, the supplies given, and the volunteers who are able to help.

Send or drop off to: St. Francis Borgia 2005 Davis Drive Blair, NE 68008

As we learn of additional opportunities and resources, we will post them here.
