Long-time friend of Spirit Catholic Radio, author and Catholic talk show host, Al Kresta, went on to his eternal reward a few days ago. Al had battled various illnesses in his lifetime and most recently faced the challenge of liver cancer.
As we remember the legacy of Al Kresta, we also keep in mind where Catholic radio and the art form of having an honest conversation about faith are today thanks to his wisdom and heart. We know Al’s program, Kresta in the Afternoon, was a listener-favorite for many years.
Spirit Catholic Radio only last saw Al a year ago when he traveled to Grand Island and Lincoln to speak at parishes there about the future of America’s faith and the Eucharist. We treasure the time he spent with our staff during that visit.
You can learn more about Al’s career by visiting the Ave Maria Radio page and a wonderful article written about his life by the Catholic News Agency.. His family set up a Caring Bridge page to communicate about Al as well. We invite you to continue to pray for the repose of Al’s soul and for his family members and friends.
Kresta in the Afternoon can still be heard from 3-5 p.m. CT and is now hosted by Marcus Peters. Marcus will be the first to tell you he was professionally inspired and spiritually guided by Al Kresta. Learn more about the show here.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
~Amen~
