After thirty years of hosting “Food for the Journey”, Sr. Ann Shields is retiring. Through inspirational teaching and stories, Sr. Ann Shields helped listeners apply God’s Word to their personal and daily lives. Her last episode aired on Friday, January 17, 2025.

Steve Clarke, Vice President of Operations for Ave Maria Radio, made this recent announcement:

We are grateful for Sr. Ann’s dedication and her gentle, faith-filled presence, which has helped countless people carry the Word of God into their daily lives and walk more closely with the Lord over the past three decades.

“We also are excited to announce another collaboration between Ave Maria Radio and Renewal Ministries! Rachel Herbeck, daughter of Fire on the Earth’s Peter Herbeck, will launch a program called Burning Hearts on Monday, January 20. It too is a fifteen-minute program, like Food for the Journey, so that your station can continue o9ering engaging, uninterrupted Catholic programming. In Burning Hearts, Rachel uses Scripture to draw us into a deeply intimate conversation with the Lord. She asks us to consider two questions: What is God saying to us? And, what are we doing about it? We are excited for your listeners to journey with Rachel to discover how to make their own roadmap through the Word of God and allow Him to set their heart on fire with zeal for his Word!”

Spirit Catholic Radio will begin airing Rachel’s new show, “Burning Hearts”, on Monday, January 20th in the time slot previously held by “Food for the Journey”. Tune in from 6:30-6:45 a.m. CT to Burning Hearts, with Rachel Herbeck!
