Many national and local events are planned for the 2,025th anniversary of the Incarnation of our Lord. We will keep you informed on the ones Spirit Catholic Radio plans to host. In the mean time, you can find a celebration calendar below marking the special dates for each Jubilee program during the year. Visit the USCCB’s Jubilee webpage for additional details.
“We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision. The forthcoming Jubilee can contribute greatly to restoring a climate of hope and trust as a prelude to the renewal and rebirth that we so urgently desire…”
– Pope Francis
Archdiocese of Omaha Jubilee Pilgrimage Sites
A plenary indulgence is a grace granted by the Catholic Church through the merits of Jesus Christ to remove the temporal punishment due to sin (i.e. Purgatory). The indulgence applies to sins already forgiven. A plenary indulgence completely cleanses the soul, as if the person had just been baptized. During the Jubilee Year two may be obtained per day by visiting a pilgrimage site. Only the first may be applied to oneself. If a second is obtained, it applies to souls in purgatory. Both may be applied to the deceased. There are eight locations designated as pilgrimage sites within the Archdiocese of Omaha. Learn more here.
