Welcome to the St. Stanislaus neighborhood noon-7pm on Sunday August 17 for the church’s annual Polish Festival. Dozens of volunteers have worked all summer creating thousands of handmade pierogi (a favorite Polish dumpling filled with kraut, potato, or sweet cheese). In addition, the menu features golabki (cabbage rolls), Polish sausage, hot dogs, burgers and Sloppy Joe’s, and desserts, as well as domestic and imported Polish beer. Polka bands will play live dance music throughout the day. Popular attractions include the grocery booth, plant booth, cake walk, children’s rides and games, ham/bacon/salami booth, and raffles. Park at Metropolitan Community College South Campus at 2909 Edward “Babe” Gomez Avenue (30th and Q Streets) with a free ride to the Festival on Ollie the Trolley. Details are updated on the St. Stanislaus Polish Festival Facebook Event page or contact the parish, 402-731-4152 with questions.
