ABOUT THE PROGRAMS

Lenten Reflections from the Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk, England
Week 1: Baptism Saves You Now
Fr. Robert Billing, Rector of the Basilica, shares the theme of the first week of Lent: Baptism brings believers immediately into the kingdom of God. Jesus our Lord is now enthroned over all the spiritual powers and pours out the Holy Spirit on all who come to him in faith and humility – in particular, through the waters of Baptism.

Week 2: Listening to the Word of Truth
Fr. Benedict Kiely of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, founder of Nasarean.org and Assistant Priest at St. Anselm Pembury, shares the theme of the second week of Lent, listening to the word of truth. As Pope Benedict XVI said, we are to “live, speak and do the truth and to reject lies that poison humanity and are the door to all evils.” Jesus is the Word of Truth of whom His Eternal Father said, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” In response to the Father’s words, we are to listen to Jesus.

Lent: A Season of Grace with Fr. Cedric Pisegna
Episode 1: Lent: A time of conversion
The first week of Lent invites us to go deeper. Lent is a season of grace. Our goal is purification and enlightenment. Like Jesus, we journey to the desert and experience conversion: movement towards God.

Episode 2: Be Enlightened
In the second week of Lent, we journey from the desert to the mountaintop. This vision gives us a compass for the direction we are heading. Jesus’ transfiguration fortifies us to face our difficulties. We come to a new identity as we discover our divine self also.
