The Man Of The Shroud Exhibit-Columbus Scotus HS, Columbus (4:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

July 29-August 3  Knights of Columbus & Spirit Catholic Radio sponsors

With more two decades  of exhaustive medical, historical and scientific research, theCenter for the Study of the Passion of the Christ and the Holy Shroud (led by the late Monsignor Guilio Ricci, President of the Roman Center for the Study of Holy Shroud at the Vatican),  developed an exhibit explaining the various aspects of the Shroud of Turin relic.  The traveling exhibit developed by Msgr. Ricci includes as the centerpiece of the exhibit a full length photographic image of the Shroud made by the Eastman Kodak Co.  In addition, the exhibit contains a nearly life-size crucified corpus showing the wounds of Christ corresponding to the passion narrative in the Gospel accounts and the wounds shown on the Shroud.  The exhibit contains 92 panels detailing the history and science of the Shroud.

Roncalli Catholic's 50th Anniversary Family Festival - Omaha (11:00 am - 11:00 am)

On Sunday, August 3 Roncalli Catholic will be kicking off it's 50th Anniversary Year with a family fun festival at the school.  

Mass will be on-campus at 11 a.m. with activities until 6 p.m.  

The festivities will include live bands, concessions, bounce houses, face painting, water balloon games, a pie eating contest, a

dunk tank, a beer garden and tours of the school.  

Admission is FREE!  

Wristbands for children's activities will be $6.




Sts.Peter & Paul 97th Parish Festival - Omaha (All Day)

 

Sts. Peter and Paul Parish will launch the oldest, largest and longest-running annual church

festival on Sunday, August 3, from noon - 8:00 p.m. with over $10,000 in cash prizes and

the best ethnic foods South Omaha has to offer. The festival will be held on the parish grounds at

36th & “X” Street, Omaha, NE.

 

A single drawing for $10,000, a second prize of $500, and additional prizes headline Omaha’s greatest summer church festival with continuous live music to provide an entire day of live entertainment. Other drawings include handmade quilts and afghans, meat raffles, “pickles”, along with numerous rides, games and events for children and the entire family.

 

Everyone is invited to bring their hearty appetites to savor delicious ethnic foods, including Sts. Peter

and Paul’s famous “sarma” (cabbage rolls), homemade Italian sausage and peppers, Polish sausage, bratwurst, BBQ lamb on a spit, tacos, and desserts from every corner of the world!

Vigil At Planned Parenthood - Lincoln (8:30 pm - 8:30 pm)

Please join Pius X and UNL Newman Center students for a candlelight vigil outside of Planned Parenthood on Monday, August 11 at 8:30 p.m.

We will be praying for mothers considering abortion and their unborn.

Recently, 200 people showed up to pray for the unborn; please help us reach 250 this time!  

Park west of Sonic or at Cornerstone Christian Church (48th and Old Cheney) and then gather on either side of the Planned Parenthood driveway.

Please bring a candle or flashlight, lighters, and rosaries.
