EPS Breakfast For Life - Omaha (9:00 am - 9:00 am)

Essential Pregnancy Services (EPS) will host its 6th Annual Breakfast for Life event on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church (11802 Pacific Street, Omaha,

Guest motivational speaker, Gail McWilliams, is invited to share her journey of motherhood and her passion to provide life-affirming options to woman and families facing crisis pregnancies.

This event is open to the public and includes a continental breakfast catered by Wheatfields.

Bishop Flavin Memorial Mass - Lincoln (10:00 am - 11:00 am)

The School Sisters of Christ the King invite you to the 21st Annual Memorial Mass for the late Bishop Glennon Flavin at Villa Regina Motherhouse in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

Bishop Flavin was known for his dedication to Catholic education and promotion of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. 

Bishop Robert Finn will be the main celebrant and Father Joseph Walsh will be the homilist at the Mass.

This year’s theme in the Year of Mercy features Bishop Flavin as a Son of Mercy. Come and promote Christ’s reign in your life and the lives of all you meet!

The Fiesta Parish Festival - Assumption/Guadalupe, Omaha (6:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Assumption-Guadalupe Catholic Church is hosting their 50th annual parish festival, called The Fiesta, on Friday evening, August 26th, through Sunday, August 28th, with Archbishop Lucas celebrating the Holy Mass on Saturday at 11:00 AM.

Enjoy a taste of the Hispanic culture all weekend long through live music, folk dances, and the wide variety of authentic Hispanic foods and drinks.

Friday night is 60s night, with live music from that era, so come and enjoy the nostalgia.

What did Jesus mean when He said, "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6)?

Fr. Scott Courtney will look at highlights from the Gospel of John such as the Wedding at Cana, Nicodemus, the Samaritan Woman, the Blind Man, and more.

Besides having a bible to write and underline in, he suggests retreatants also bring a copy of St. John's Gospel: A Bible Study Guide and Commentary by

Steve Ray which he will be using to dig deeply into the Gospel of John.

The Plasi (Sts. Cyril & Methodius) Parish will host a Roast Beef Dinner at the

Prague Parish Hall in Prague, Nebraska on Sunday, August 28th from 11:00-2:00.  

The Roast Beef Dinner is self-serve and includes KOLACHES and other desserts.  

The event includes a Cake Walk, Bake Sale (with Czech pastries), Raffle,Silent Auction, and Live Auction.
